Also known as Acinippo, it was a Roman city located in the municipality of Ronda, in Malaga province, Spain.
It has been occupied since the Neolithic period, but its moment of greatest splendour was during the Roman period, especially from the end of the 1st century AD. It has been known as ‘Ronda la Vieja’ (Old Ronda), and is considered an ancient settlement of the city of Ronda. However, both cities, Acinipo and Ronda (called ‘Arunda’), coexisted in time.
